The beginning of EEPIS history began in 1985. At that time, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) initial study team for technical assistance and cooperation was headed by Prof. Y. Naito from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, came to this polytechnic. After conducting observations and a feasibility study in 1986, JICA agreed to start technical cooperation in 1987 by sending 5 Indonesian teachers to technology colleges in Japan.
